A Biddeford man suffered critical injuries Friday afternoon after a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of Routes 25 and 11 in Limington, according to Maine State Police.

Troopers responded to the crash at approximately 4:08 p.m. on July 17. An initial investigation determined that Robert Letellier, 85, of Biddeford, was driving a 1957 Ford truck when he failed to stop for a red light and entered the intersection.

Police said Letellier’s truck collided with a Dodge pickup driven by Michael Simpson of Limington. The force of the crash caused Letellier, who investigators said was not wearing a seatbelt, to be ejected from his vehicle. He sustained critical injuries and was transported to Maine Medical Center in Portland.

The collision also caused Simpson’s Dodge pickup to roll over. Simpson was taken to Maine Medical Center with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.

After the initial impact, Letellier’s truck continued into the intersection and struck a Honda Civic driven by Salma Khalifa, 26, of Saco. Police did not report any injuries to Khalifa.

The Maine State Police Reconstruction Team responded to assist troopers from the Southern Field Troop in investigating the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
