Can a Woman Be a Pastor? What the Bible Says

Can a woman be a pastor? We open the Bible and answer it plainly — no hedging.

Pastor Travis and his wife Madison sit down at The Pastor’s Office to work through what Scripture actually teaches about women in ministry, and why “equal” doesn’t mean “equivalent.” In this episode we respond to the growing push for women pastors across evangelical Christianity — from Beth Moore leaving the SBC and Rick Warren ordaining women, to Sadie Robertson’s viral case for women in the pulpit. We trace where this shift really started, what the Bible says about the office of pastor and elder, and how God’s design for men and women is a beautiful complement rather than a competition.

We cover:

  • The 4 views — egalitarianism, complementarianism, and the “soft complementarian” blur
  • What Scripture says: 1 Timothy 2, 1 Timothy 3, 1 Corinthians 11, Genesis 1–3, 1 Peter 3, Titus 2
  • Deborah in Judges 4 — the verse the egalitarian camp forgets
  • The real history: 1848 to Antoinette Brown Blackwell (1853) to Aimee Semple McPherson to today
  • “Equal but not equivalent” — the imago Dei and the order of God
  • Prophesying, testimony, and worship — what women ARE called to do
  • The waves of feminism, the sexual revolution, DINKs, and modesty
  • Andrew Tate, the “red pill” movement, and why biblical Christianity is NOT chauvinism

Whether you land in the complementarian or egalitarian camp, we’d love for you to open your Bible and wrestle through it with us.
