V. Paul Reynolds is editor/publisher of the Northwoods Sporting Journal. He also writes a weekly outdoor column for a number of Maine newspapers. He hosts a statewide weekly outdoor radio program, The Maine Outdoors and is the author of three books on hunting, fishing and the outdoors. Reynold is the former managing editor of the Bangor Daily News. He is a graduate of the University of Maine and is an active duty veteran of the U.S. Navy. He and his wife Diane make their home at Branch Lake in Ellsworth, Maine and on a houseboat in the Florida Keys.

“How does a boy become a man?” Out of the blue, that question was put to my middle-aged son by his grandson, my 12-year-old great grandson.
