U.S. Sen. Rand Paul, a Kentucky Republican and 2016 presidential hopeful, will speak at the 2014 Maine Republican Party convention.

“I can’t think of a better national figure to speak at our convention to the issues of individual liberty and economic prosperity than Senator Rand Paul,” said Maine GOP Chairman Rick Bennett in a press release. “I admire the principles Senator Paul stands for, and as I hear from Republicans across our state, I know that a groundswell of support for these principles is rising.”

According to the press release, Paul will speak in the early afternoon on Saturday, April 26 at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.
