lepage ad shotA new advertisement from the Republican Governors Association (RGA) contrasts Gov. Paul LePage with “blow-dried” politicians.

“Some people like their politicians blow dried. Others prefer the cookie cutter model. Or those who always have the perfect sound bite. And then there’s Paul LePage,” a female narrator says as images of LePage and Maine workers flash on screen.

According to a source with detailed knowledge of RGA’s communications strategy who asked not to be identified, the group has already purchased as much as $3 million in television time for ads supporting LePage.

“Governor LePage is no run-of-the-mill politician, and he has shown throughout his first term that he knows how to put Maine back on the path to prosperity,” said RGA Communications Director Gail Gitcho. “More people are working, taxes are down, businesses are hiring again, and Maine is better off today because of Governor LePage’s results-driven leadership.”

It’s really too bad that so many people are offended by straight from the shoulder truth and would rather be lied to with a smile. It reminds me of a song in the ’70’s The Back Stabber, exposing smooth talking deceivers. Gov. LePage may be blunt but he’s honest and I for one sincerely appreciate that in a person.
