Images posted to Facebook by an art teacher at Brunswick Junior High show middle school students learning about 15 different genders and sexualities thanks to a “Sexualities & Gender Identities” quiz game posted in the cafeteria.
“This display is in our cafeteria and was designed and hung by students in our Queer + Allies Club,” said the art teacher.
The display includes flags representing such diverse genders as genderqueer, meaning a person who does not subscribe to conventional gender distinctions but still identifies as neither, both, or a combination of male and female.
Students in the middle school club also decided to represent Demisexuals, which are people who experience sexual attraction to people with whom they have close emotional connections.
The kids also added to the board the Pansexual flag. Not to be confused with omnisexual, which also made the board, pansexuals are attracted to all genders and sexualities, and they often describe themselves as gender-blind.
In lieu of the standard rainbow pride flag, the students opted for the more progressive “Pride Progresses” flag, which has the standard rainbow colors plus a few additional colors. The flag, created in 2018, symbolizes the need for additional progress on gender issues as well as intersectionality with racial justice.
According to QueerInTheWorld.com, there are more than 50 flags recognized in the LGBTQ+ community, so it’s unclear why Brunswick students settled for 15.
The presentation excluded, for example, the abrosexual flag. An abrosexual is someone whose sexuality changes from day to day, or even hour to hour.

As a student, it’s interesting to see how schools are including more discussions around gender and sexuality to foster inclusivity.
When basic life skills are no longer a concern it shows intent of the Maine DOE. A confused uneducated public are easier to control and manipulate. This has been the goal of the Maine DOE for a long time. Now they are taking it to the next level and don’t even hide it. If you look into those who push this you will see they are financially motivated in some way in this ideology.
