Top Maine Businesses Are Funding Push for Late-Term Abortion and Far Left “Trans” Policies

Central Maine Power, Hannaford, and LL Bean are sponsors of the far left Equality Maine

Central Maine Power, Hannaford, and LL Bean are just three of the well-known Maine brands that are supporting late-term abortion and a host of other far left policies by sponsoring Equality Maine, a nonprofit organization that lobbies for Democratic policies.

Originally founded in the 1980s to advocate for the legalization of same-sex marriage, Equality Maine has morphed into a nonprofit advocacy group that backs a range of progressive policies.

According to the “Our Current Agenda” section of the organization’s website, the group is currently “hard at work” opposing voter ID, local recall elections, curriculum transparency for public schools, and proposals for a so-called Parents Bill of Rights.

The group also supports LD 1619, a bill that would eliminate Maine’s current restrictions on abortion, effectively legalizing full-term abortions for any reason whatsoever.

But the group’s bailiwick post-Obergefell is transgender ideology and related laws.

Equality Maine has spent the current legislative session lobbying for a slate of proposals that would expand minors access to sex-change drugs and surgeries, including LD 535, a bill that would allow 16- and 17-year-olds to get sex-change drugs over their parents’ objections. The group has also encouraged lawmakers to pass LD 1735, a bill that would prevent Maine law enforcement from reuniting a child with their parents if they were brought into Maine for sex-change drugs or surgeries.

According to a video posted to Equality Maine’s Facebook page, it also helped to defeat legislation that would have prevented public school employees from using opposite-sex pronouns to refer to students without parents’ knowledge. The group lobbied against an effort to remove obscene materials from elementary schools and a bill that would have prevented biological males from competing in women’s sports.

On Equality Maine’s website, Central Maine Power (CMP) is listed as a “visionary sponsor,” while Bangor Savings Bank and Hannaford are “champion sponsors.”

General Dynamics, the company that owns Bath Iron Works, and WEX, a public software company based in Portland, are “vanguard sponsors,” and LL Bean is a “trailblazer sponsor.”

You can see the full list of corporate sponsors here.

Corporations will often donate to groups like Equality Maine as a virtue signal to left-wing consumers.

But some large corporations have faced costly backlash in recent weeks for taking the “pinkwashing” a little too far.

Target has taken fire for offering pride-themed products designed by an outspoken Satanist and bathing suits that include “penis tucking” features.

Bud Light’s brand has imploded after the firm ran a marketing promotion with controversial TikTok personality Dylan Mulvaney.

I guess CMP, Hannaford, and LL Bean haven’t figured out yet that wholesale abortion means fewer consumers of their products …

Equity Maine is working to lower the birth rate of Mainers with full term abortion and sterilization of our children. Where will our future workforce come from? Consumer base? Maine is in demographic free fall.

Time to boycott Hannaford and let them know why you’re no longer shopping at their stores.

It is not enough to stop shopping or trading with these woke organizations. Write them a letter or postcard or email and let them know how you view them by virtue of their support for these disgusting positions.

Stfu, Steve. This isn’t ” far left”. It’s just being decent to the people who need those services. Noone WANTS to get these services performed, but do so when their condition is life threatening. God needs to teach you compassion. I hope he renews your heart & allows you to see through compassionate eyes instead of the hateful political view you’ve adopted.

This all leads to the WEF who is threatening these companies to get with the agenda or lose the ability to get loans. That is the true enemy.
