Maine Attorney General Aaron Frey announced Monday that the Court granted his request for a permanent injunction under the Maine Civil Rights Act against Alisha Sayed, 28, of Portland for allegedly threatening and using racial slurs against two Black women in Portland.

On Aug. 4, 2022, Sayed approached a Black woman at the Portland Public Library and repeatedly called her racial slurs, saying to the woman “[w]atch your back. I’m coming for you. I’ll be looking for you,” according the State’s Complaint.

He then threatened another Black woman at a nearby apartment building later that same day, calling her racial slurs and chasing her down the hallway.

Sayed was arrested by Portland Police, pled guilty to charges of Criminal Threatening and Terrorizing, and was sentenced to 90 days in jail.

AG Frey filed a separate civil action for a permanent injunction in order to “protect both victims and the public from Sayed’s bias-motivated conduct.”

The Court’s order prohibits Sayed from contacting the two women and from violating the Civil Rights Act in the future.

A knowing violation of the order is a Class D crime punishable by up to 364 days in jail and a $2,000 fine.

“When victims are singled out and pursued for their race, religion, gender, or any protected identity, our laws recognize not only harm to the victims, but harm to an entire community and to society at large,” said AG Frey. “My office will not hesitate to take action under the Maine Civil Rights Act to enjoin racist activity that causes fear in our community.”

sounds like he needs to be locked up for more than 90 days before he dose something worse. Of course if we wait till he shoots someone then Aaron Frey can blame the gun like any good demoKKKrat would.
