The Army Reservist who brutally murdered 18 Mainers in Lewiston on Wednesday evening has been found dead, multiple Maine officials have confirmed.
The late Robert R. Card Jr., the primary suspect in an act of domestic terrorism that targeted a popular bowling alley and a bar in Maine’s largest city, was found dead shortly before 9:00 pm in Lisbon.
Initial reports suggest Card was found dead in the area near the recycling and waste management facilities of Lisbon, dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
Hours earlier at a press conference, the names of his victims had finally been identified.
For nearly 48 hours after Card’s campaign of terror, Mainers had hunkered down in fear of a continuation of the vicious violence.
More details will be provided at a snap press conference in Lewiston at 10:00 pm.
