Deportation officers from ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Boston apprehended the 23-year-old unlawfully present Brazilian fugitive on Thursday, March 14, near his residence in Everett, Mass.
ICE said the Brazilian national was in possession of fraudulent identification documents at the time of his arrest.
According to ICE, the Brazilian fugitive is wanted in Brazil for failing to serve a 19-year prison sentence for a conviction for armed robbery and his subsequent escape from prison in November 2017 — at which point the fugitive had more than 13 years remaining in his sentence.
The Brazilian noncitizen unlawfully entered the U.S. at an unknown date and location, and without being inspected, admitted, or paroled by a U.S. immigration official, ICE said.
He will remain in ICE custody pending his appearance before a Department of Justice immigration judge for removal proceedings.
