A man has been charged with manslaughter and operating under the influence after a fatal head-on collision in Gray on Saturday, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash occurred at about 11:30 p.m. on Saturday on Portland Road near the intersection with Sugar Maple Road.

Jean Claude Nshimiyimana, 43, is accused of driving drunk in a 2022 Jeep Gladiator and crashing head-on into a 2019 Chevrolet Suburban that was traveling in the opposite direction.

Nshimiyimana, who according to arrest records has an address at an apartment in South Portland, was booked on Sunday at Cumberland County Jail on charges of manslaughter and OUI, and is being held without bail.

The driver of the 2019 Suburban, 50-year-old Daniel Fackrell of Cumberland, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Two children who were in the vehicle with Fackrell suffered non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash and were treated at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

The crash remains under investigation, but authorities suspect that speed and alcohol were factors.

One of Janet Mills’ and DA Sartoris’ illegals.
Thanks ladies and thanks BMV for giving out illegal driver’s licenses.
You should all be charged with aiding and abetting a crime.

Looks to me like this could be one of those jobs pinhead pengree said she welcomes illegals for. If you Mainers had gotten off your asses and committed more manslaughter we could finally close the border. Once again, its the voters fault.

Chellie’s Hero’s, the movie. She wants more of them in Maine to make up for our aging population. Just don’t send them to North Haven Island where Chellie lives in splendor.

I wonder if this is the same guy from a 2019 police roundup: “Jean Nshimiyimana, 38, of Milford, was arrested on Sept. 23 on a DUI charge as well as open container, lane control, and stop/stand/park prohibited violations on the Everett Turnpike North in Nashua.”

Fyi beachmom, I could be wrong, but I recall that the ME BMV was failing so many Somali drivers trying to pass their road tests that they were threatened with a suit by Commie Maine lawyers. They caved, of course, and lightened up on their requirements.

Also there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t see who I assume are “New Mainers” making bone-headed moves on our roads. Obviously, that makes me a racist.
