According to Auburn Police, on Friday, Oct. 18, members of the department’s Proactive Community Enforcement (PACE) Unit, alongside member of their patrol division, executed a search warrant at 124 Goff St. and 21 Swett Ave. in Auburn.

The searches resulted in the discovery of 217 gams of cocaine base (crack cocaine), 6.5 grams of cocaine hydrochloride, 15 MDMA (ecstasy) pills, scales, packaging materials and over $500 cash in suspected drug proceeds.

Arrested as a result of the two raids was 39-year-old Jose Mota of Auburn, who was charged with aggravated trafficking of scheduled drugs and the illegal possession of a firearm.

Mota was transported to the Androscoggin County Jail, where his bail was set at $25,000 cash.

“The drug trafficking charge was aggravated due to Mr. Mota being in possession of a firearm,” Auburn Police said in a Saturday press release.

“Mr. Mota is prohibited from owning or possessing a firearm due to a long criminal history, which includes felony convictions in multiple states,” Auburn Police said.
