Maine Dem Caught Parking in “No Parking” Zone

Editor’s Note: An earlier version of this story incorrectly attributed the District 64 license plate to the newly elected representative for the district; however, the plate is a 2022-2024 issue, which means it belongs to Rep. Colleen Madigan, whose term expired on Dec. 5, 2024. We regret the error.

A term-limited Waterville representative was caught taking advantage of her potentially expired legislative plates — and the slim design on her Chevy Spark — to slip into a “No Parking” zone over the weekend.

Rep. Colleen Madigan (D-Waterville)

Ex-Rep. Colleen Madigan, a Democrat from Waterville, who was just term-limited out of House District 64 on Dec. 5, was apparently in a hurry to park her ride at Waterville City Hall and got a little creative with her spot selection.

A Maine Wire reader sent along the incriminating pic, noting that it may have been taken during a performance of the Nutcracker at the city’s Opera House.

In most cases, the crossed lines in parking lots indicate areas where drivers are not supposed to park vehicles in order to keep lanes clear for workers or emergency first responders.

OMG really?! If this is what we consider newsworthy ‘abuses of power’ by elected officials in Maine nowadays, we’re actually way better off than most of us would probably guess! Like if it was a Handicapped space, I could see being disgusted and tsk tsk-ing..
But squeezing a tiny car into a no parking zone is so passè that it barely even qualifies as “rude” (so long as others could still get in their cars). So, it almost seems more jerk-ish to call it out for public shaming like you’re the “parking spot hall monitor”. Nobody likes a tattle-tale, even when they’re right!

She perhaps should use some walking steps from the looks of her head shot. Too many lunches on the lobbyist dime in the rotunda?

Even if it is her car I would say an average person would interpret that having the state plate with that bumper sticker that the state is promoting a certain candidate. A brazen violation of the hatch act, she should be removed.

    usual entitled democrat.
