A teenager who was injured in a shooting in Lewiston last week is refusing to cooperate with investigators, Lewiston Police said Friday.

Police say they responded to 129 Pierce St. at about 10 p.m. Thursday night for a report of a male suffering a gunshot wound to the leg.

At the scene, officers found the gunshot victim, a 14-year-old male, and began rendering aid. The teen was transported to Central Maine Medical Center where he was treated for the non-life threatening injury.

Police added that the 14-year-old is “refusing to cooperate with investigators.”

“At this point in the investigation there does not appear to be any threat to the public,” Lewiston Police said Friday.

The area of Pierce Street has been the site of multiple shootings in Lewiston over the past year. The building at 129 Pierce St. is a triple-decker apartment complex owned by MJLD Properties, LLC.

A man was left in critical condition after a shooting in the area of Walnut and Pierce Streets in December, and in March of last year, a 14-year-old male was charged in connection to another shooting that occurred on the same street in Lewiston.

Lewiston Police Chief David St. Pierre said at an August press conference that the city had seen roughly 30 shootings since the start of the year, mostly involving the city’s youth.

Chief St. Pierre also said at that press conference that the city would hold monthly meetings with immigrant and refugee groups based in the area , in order to “build trust” between police and the local youth.

Well then let him fix his own damn leg .
I certainly don’t want MY taxes repairing him .
If he doesn’t want to cooperate then let him bleed to death .
I’m tired about hearing about Maines “ revitalized “ city ….Lewiston .LOL
THIS is the kind of shit that goes on in Somali , not the United States .
Lock them up and call ICE .

They should have weekly meetings with ICE if they want to build trust with the taxpayers.

Lewiston and Auburn were on the up swing economically until the city councils and mayors decided lets resettle all these ILLEGAL ALIENS here!!!
Now you have shootings and violence issues in the schools and the cities wonder why. Add to that your citizens embraced BLM propaganda so you cant keep or hire any cops. This is what all of you voted for, had enough yet? My sense is NO since you keep voting the same fools into office. Not much longer and both cities will be just like Chicago and San Francisco. Well done people of Lewiston and Auburn, well done!!!

Invest in deportation. Put a curfew out for L/A to keep these illegal kiddo thug aliens off the streets after sundown.
Check the DNA from the shooting over on Grove St.

““At this point in the investigation there does not appear to be any threat to the public,” Lewiston Police said Friday.”

I am getting tired of this phrase from the police.

At what point is a gunshot serious?

Confinement, no stimulus, TV, Radio, Phone, exact same food each meal, no visitors. This person shot them self. Are you the stupid adults.

I’ve gone to the big Lew several times in the last year. Just for kicks I’ve driven down Lisbon St. and if you didn’t know you would swear the street was abandoned! Nobody on the street most times and if there is it’s never a white person. Yeah, that some comeback! The only thing missing is burning tires in the middle of the street!
