Lewiston Police announced Sunday that a 14-year-old male has been charged in connection to a weekend shooting on Pierce Street.

Police say they responded to the area of 101 Pierce St. at about 4:40 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, for a report of numerous shots fired.

Upon arrival, police met with several witnesses and located spent shell casings in the area.

According to police, a review of surveillance footage revealed the suspected shooter, who was later identified by police as a 14-year-old male.

The juvenile suspect was located by police and charged with aggravated reckless conduct, a Class C offense.

The 14-year-old was taken to Long Creek Youth Development Center in South Portland, where he remains, police said.

Lewiston Police said that no one was injured during the shooting.
