In the ratings cellar, CBS News apparently thinks one way to attract new viewers is hiring a failed cable-TV hack and secret Democrat lobbyist.
The website Status reports that CBS News chief Bari Weiss thinks Chris Cuomo would be good for her troubled network.
Cuomo was fired by CNN five years ago for helping his brother, ex-New York Democrat Gov. Andrew Cuomo, after the latter was accused of sexual assault.
The governor ended up resigning in disgrace, despite his brother’s trying to prop him up with thumbsucking CNN appearances.
It ended up a twofer – Chris was canned after his bosses figured out he was using their airwaves to lobby for his embattled bro.
“This is not how I want my time at CNN to end, but I have already told you why and how I helped my brother,” the governor’s secret CNN aide-de-camp said in a statement at the time.
Weiss has reportedly been wining and dining the failed CNN anchor in hopes of getting him to leave News Nation, the network for which he currently pontificates nonstop Cuomo blather.
