A Westford, Massachusetts man, Mugil Malai, 28, was arrested in Concord, New Hampshire just after midnight on Thursday morning after he allegedly assaulted two NH State Troopers.

Troopers responded to calls reporting a disabled 2011 Honda Civic on the left side of the northbound I-93 highway with its lights out.

When Officers Peter Kosakowski and Morgan Butcher attempted to speak with Malai, he reportedly shut and locked his door, which had been open, and tried to start the stalled vehicle.

When the car wouldn’t start, Malai allegedly exited his vehicle and charged at Kosakowski, striking him in the head before also attacking Butcher.

After a brief struggle, the troopers were able to take Malai into custody and transport him to the Merrimack County Jail.

He is currently being held in preventative detention pending arraignment for assaulting police officers and resisting arrest.

Both troopers were treated for minor injuries at Concord Hospital and have since been released.

The 28-year-old Malai has four total years of work experience, with his most recent job as a cashier at Nordstrom, ending in 2019. He described himself online as a “hard worker with great listening skills who is able to manage himself and create collaboration to increase overall functionality in the workplace.”

Slow reaction times from the troopers! Due to fear of law suits?

Clearly he had never seen a NH trooper before. Even their cars are fierce looking.
