A 33-year-old Portland man is facing multiple charges after allegedly attempting to stab a victim and steal the victim’s car Wednesday night.

Portland Police say they responded to the area of Commercial and High Streets shortly before 8:55 p.m. on Wednesday for a report of a motor vehicle theft and an attempted stabbing.

The suspect, 33-year-old Seth Mccallum of Portland, was found in the area wielding a knife and was taken into custody by police.

According to Portland Police, witnesses stated that Mccallum attempted to stab the victim, before getting into the victimโ€™s vehicle and driving a short distance.

Mccallum also allegedly caused damage to the vehicle, including slashing two tires.

Police say no one was injured in the incident.

Mccallum was charged with robbery, criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, aggravated criminal mischief, theft by unauthorized use of property and interference with constitutional rights. He was transported to the Cumberland County Jail.
