The Bangor Police Department arrested a Mississippi man in the early morning hours of Labor Day after he allegedly drove through the city while discharging a firearm.

Bangor police officers responded to the city’s Capehart area after receiving multiple early-morning calls reporting a driver in a white sedan firing a handgun from the vehicle.
With the help of security camera footage provided by one of the callers, police identified the suspect as Trai Moore, 24, of Gulfport, Mississippi, and tracked him to the motel on Odlin Road.
Police arrived, and Moore caused a brief standoff when he allegedly refused to exit his vehicle, but he was eventually taken into custody.
Moore was transported to the Penobscot County Jail, where he faces charges of reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon, criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, criminal restraint, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct.
It is not clear how Moore incurred the criminal restraint charge, and the motive remains unknown.
