The Maine State Police are investigating a homicide after officers discovered a man dead in a Corinth apartment while responding to reports of gunfire on Sunday that left another man hospitalized and in critical condition.
Early Sunday morning, the police received multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire from the area of 272 Main Street in Corinth.
Police arrived to discover a severely wounded adult male outside the residence. They rendered life-saving first-aid assistance, and the man was transported by helicopter to a local hospital, where he is receiving medical attention for life-threatening injuries.

He remains in critical condition.
State troopers entered a nearby apartment believed to have a connection to the shooting.
Officers discovered a deceased male inside and requested assistance from the Major Crimes Unit North and the Evidence Response Team.
Investigators identified the deceased man as Scott Roberts, 46, of Glenburn. The body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta.
An autopsy revealed that Roberts’ death was a homicide caused by a gunshot wound.
Investigators have not made any arrests as of Monday afternoon, and they have not released any details on a potential suspect or any connection between Roberts’ death and the man found in critical condition outside.
The Maine State Police does not believe that there is any ongoing threat to the public.
Roberts was reportedly the victim of a non-fatal shooting just months ago, when he was shot in the stomach following an argument.
Over a decade ago, Roberts turned himself into police after he allegedly robbed a medical marijuana facility in Winterport while impersonating a police officer.
