The Portland Police Department is working to identify a man whom officials at the city’s King Middle School claim exposed himself on Friday to students at a local park.

Principal Amy Marx reportedly sent a letter to parents informing them of the incident, which allegedly took place at around 1:05 p.m. as students on recess were playing in the Deering Oaks Park playground.

“While the students were playing, a few students reported to a King teacher that a male person by the swings in close proximity to them had exposed his private areas,” said Marx in her letter to parents.

According to Marx, the school immediately moved students indoors and reported the incident to the police.

Social workers and counselors at the school will meet with students affected by the incident and address safety protocols with the whole school on Monday.

Police are continuing to investigate the situation, but they have reportedly not yet identified a suspect.
