The Senate Leadership Fund has released a new ad in Maine gouging U.S. Senate candidate Troy Jackson’s cozy legislative relationship with his lobbyist son.

The ad’s foundation is Jackson while president of the state Senate killing a bill requiring his son’s client to avoid environmental inspections.

The ad is part of the fund’s $42 million investment to re-elect five-term GOP U.S. Sen. Susan Collins.

The group is trying to “expose Troy Jackson’s record of enriching himself,” said spokesman Chris Gustafson.

New Ad: Troy Jackson sold out Maine to special interests while his lobbyist son cashed in, enriching himself at the expense of working families.

A bill to hold a polluter accountable “was stonewalled under Jackson’s leadership,” Gustafson said.

Washington Free Beacon broke the news recently about Jackson’s shady role during his son’s lobbying career.

The younger Jackson represented an oil-storage company seeking to avoid government environmental inspections.

“Troy Jackson sold out the people of Maine to special interests while his lobbyist son lined the family’s pockets,” the pro-Collins group fund says. “Jackson’s entire career is based on enriching himself at the expense of working families.”
