The South Portland Police Department sought help from the public on Tuesday in locating the owners of a trio of goats discovered wandering around a suburban Cape Elizabeth neighborhood.

The police department announced that three goats, two females and one male, were found wandering on State Avenue in Cape Elizabeth.

Law enforcement requested that the owners call to claim their lost livestock and asked anyone with information about the owners to come forward.

Shortly after posting the request for information, the South Portland Police Department announced that the owners had been located.

It is unclear whether the goats caused any damage to the upscale, suburban neighborhood during their escape, and the police did not specify where they escaped from.
