An armed robber reportedly threatened a woman at gunpoint in her home in downtown Wiscasset on Wednesday before she was able to escape and call the police.

According to Wiscasset police, the suspect knocked on the door of a residence on Lincoln Street and asked the female resident if he could use her phone.
As the woman turned to get her phone, the suspect allegedly walked inside and pulled out a firearm. He then reportedly told her that he was robbing her.
Somehow, the woman was able to escape from the armed man and flee to a neighbor’s house, where she was able to call the police.
Police responded with a K-9 unit and searched the house, but they were not immediately to locate the suspect. Late Thursday evening; however, police announced they had apprehended 19-year old Lucas Stinson, who they say matches the description of the suspect.
The woman described the alleged robber as a white man wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt or jacket, tan light-colored pants, and a black mask. At some point, he reportedly pulled down the mask and allowed her to see his face, and she described him as clean-shaven and having acne.
Wiscasset Police believe Stinson is also behind a large-scale theft of hard liquor from the Water Street Kitchen, a downtown business. He has been booked on both charges as well as a count of unlawful sexual touching and is being held at Two Bridges Jail.
