Maine Senators Announce Military Academy Nominees, Praising Students’ Leadership and Character

WASHINGTON — U.S. Sens. Susan Collins (R) and Angus King (I) of Maine on Wednesday announced their nominees to the nation’s military service academies. Applicants seeking admission to the United States Military Academy, Naval Academy, Air Force Academy, or Merchant Marine Academy must receive a nomination from an authorized source, including members of Congress. The U.S. Coast Guard Academy does not require congressional nominations.

“We are proud to have the honor to nominate such an impressive group of Maine students to our nation’s distinguished service academies,” Collins and King said in a joint statement. “The young people we have nominated have earned this honor through a commitment to strong scholarship, leadership, and character.”

The senators released the following list of Maine students nominated to the academies:

United States Military Academy – West Point
