The Windham Police Department arrested a 14-year-old student of Windham High School on Tuesday after he was allegedly discovered trying to procure weapons and was found with a list of suspected targets.

On Tuesday, police received a report that a 14-year-old student had allegedly been using school technology to research weapons procurement.

The report also suggested that the student was found with a narrowly tailored list of individuals, which may have been a kill list of intended victims.

Police then launched an investigation with the cooperation of the school department.

As a result of the investigation, police charged a 14-year-old student with criminal solicitation, criminal conspiracy, and terroristic threatening. The student was placed under house arrest with an explicit condition prohibiting him from entering any property of RSU 14, Windham’s school district.

While the investigation remains ongoing, police do not believe there is any additional threat to students or staff, and the school remains operational.

According to police, it was other students who first reported the 14-year-old to law enforcement, and authorities commended them for their quick action, which they stated was instrumental in maintaining the safety of the school.
