The Westbrook Police Department received a notice from a Virginia sheriff’s department suggesting that someone who was wanted in that commonwealth on three felony counts of sodomy against a child was believed to be residing in Westbrook on an extraditable warrant.

Officers went to the address provided by the Virginia sheriff and located the suspect.

The suspect was identified as the female Merveilles Saidi, 33, of Virginia. She was arrested and transported to the Cumberland County Jail and charged with being a fugitive from justice.

She is currently awaiting extradition to Virginia.
