The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department is investigating after a family found six bullet holes in their newly constructed Alna home on Tuesday, just as they were moving in.
At approximately 4:16 p.m., deputies responded to reports of a house being shot at on Head Tide Hill Road.
The owners of the newly constructed home had just closed on the property and were moving in when they discovered six bullet holes in the side of the house facing the driveway.
Some of the bullets hit windows and traveled inside the house.
Deputies were able to recover some bullet fragments that appeared to come from a small-caliber weapon.
The Maine Warden Service Evidence Response Team responded to assist with the investigation.
No suspect is in custody, but the Sheriff’s Department claims that there is no ongoing threat to the public.
