The Auburn Police Department is searching for a “dark-colored pickup truck” after a local resident was startled on Saturday evening when bullets flew into her living room.

Police responded at around 7:45 p.m. after a homeowner reported gunfire on Pownal Road.

When law enforcement arrived, the homeowner reported discovering two bullet holes in her living room window and wall. Officers confirmed that there were bullet holes in the residence and determined that no one had been injured.

Officers then viewed security footage from cameras at surrounding residences and observed a “dark-colored pickup truck” traveling through the area at the time of the incident.

Police believe the incident was an isolated reckless discharge of a firearm from the vehicle rather than a targeted attack.

They have requested information from the public about the vehicle involved but did not provide images of the vehicle from the security footage.
