The woman who was behind the wheel of a minivan that fatally struck two MDOT employees Tuesday previously served four years in prison on a drug conviction.

Samantha Tupper, 34, allegedly failed to stop at a posted Waterville construction site along I-95 south, entering the highway where her vehicle was hit by a tractor trailer.

Tupper’s minivan then hit three high workers, two of whom were thrown to their deaths over a bridge, police say.

Tupper in 2018 was sentenced to four years for selling cocaine to an undercover cop while on probation.

She was on probation for another drug case at the time.

Tupper also was one of four perps arrested in 2016 after shots were fired by people in two cars in the Augusta Walmart parking lot.

Police said at the time the parking-lot shootout was part of a dispute over drugs.

Tupper was sent to jail for five months for her role in that incident.
