State Fire Marshal Investigating Suspected Arson at Vacant Mexico Home

MEXICO, Maine — The Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating a fire that occurred Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at approximately 7:26 p.m. at 9 Oxford Street in Mexico.

Fire investigators have been working the incident over the past several days. The fire occurred at a vacant home and has been classified as incendiary.

Investigators are trying to identify an individual in still images who may have information relevant to the investigation. They are also asking nearby residents and businesses to check their security or surveillance cameras for any activity that may be relevant.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Office of the State Fire Marshal at 207-624-7076.

The investigation remains ongoing. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
