MEXICO, Maine — Law enforcement officials in Oxford County are searching for a woman who was reported missing after abruptly losing contact with friends and family.

According to the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office, Tawnya Woods was last seen in Mexico, Maine, and has not communicated with anyone for more than 24 hours, a situation authorities say is highly unusual for her.

Officials believe Woods may be traveling in a green Ford Edge bearing Maine license plate MEDS 24J8. Investigators note that she has known contacts in Maine, New Hampshire, and Florida.

The sheriff’s office is asking anyone who may have seen Woods or her vehicle, or who has information about her whereabouts, to contact the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office at 207-743-9554.
