Homeless Man Arrested After Robbing Lewiston Bank

The Lewiston Police Department arrested a homeless man on Tuesday after he allegedly robbed a bank on Sabbatus Street.

At approximately 3:30 p.m., the Lewiston Police Department responded to reports of a bank robbery at the Maine Family Credit Union on 555 Sabattus St.

Investigators arrived and found that a suspect had entered the bank and demanded cash from a teller.

Police did not specify whether the suspect was armed or if he threatened the teller.

The Lewiston Police Department collaborated with the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency (MDEA) to search the surrounding area.

Law enforcement deployed a drone and a K-9 team in the search and eventually located the suspect.

The suspect was identified as Donald Allen White, 46, and homeless.

He was arrested and charged with theft by unauthorized taking, robbery, and violating conditions of release.

It is not clear how much money he actually stole from the bank.
