Janet Mills got an assist Friday from the newspaper she lied to about whether she would meet with Trump.

The Portland Press Herald was so gleeful about being able to interview the flip-flopping Democrat governor it glossed right over this gem:

“Chaos comes from a chaotic administration which can’t make up its mind whether it wants to hear from Democratic governors,” Mills said.

Did you catch that?

“Can’t make up its mind.” – Janet Mills

That would be the same Janet Mills who put her foot down insisting maybe she would then would not then would attend a White House governor’s meeting with President Trump.

That would be the same Janet Mills who later tried to explain why she suddenly decided that she would go to the White House meeting.

And her explanation of that Olympian triple-axle aboutface came only after The Maine Wire noticed her sulking mug in a Reuters photo of a White House governors grouping.

The Portland Press Herald was glad to give its friend Janet the chance Friday to try to explain what the heck was going on in her head.

“It really was a last-minute thing,” Mills told the paper’s Randy Billings. “I woke up this morning thinking, ‘oh jeez, why don’t I just go?’”

The Republican National Committee called the term-limited governor who by polls seems to be badly losing a primary race for the U.S. Senate “not being up for the job.

“Janet Mills should do the people of Maine a favor and drop out before she embarrasses herself further.”

Democrat fence-sitters are starting to think Graham Platner‘s Nazi tattoo may not be so offensive after all.
