The U.S. Attorney’s Office in New Hampshire identified the man accused of shooting at a Border Patrol agent on Sunday and charged him with attempted murder.

Cullan Zeke Daly, 26, of Manchester, NH, who also goes by the name Blu Zeke Daly, is facing charges of attempted murder of a federal officer and assaulting a federal officer with a deadly weapon.

He is currently under guard while receiving medical treatment at an unspecified New Hampshire hospital.

After initially providing few details on the incident, other than stating that a border patrol agent came under fire and shot back, injuring the suspect, authorities revealed the specifics of the incident.

On Saturday evening, a Border Patrol agent who has not yet been named was traveling in Stewartstown, NH, near the Canadian border when he encountered Daly.

The agent reportedly asked Daly if he had used any other names, and Daly reportedly drove away.

The agent followed Daly from a distance.

After midnight on Sunday, Daly reportedly arrived at the Pittsburgh Port of Entry, which was closed at the time, with its gate locked.

The Border Patrol agent activated his emergency lights and exited his vehicle.

Daly then reportedly turned and fired a handgun at the agent. The agent then returned fire and struck Daly.

Daly faces a possible combined 40-year prison sentence and a $500,000 fine for the charges.

No mugshot of Daly is currently available.

The NH Journal reported that Daly is a transgender-identifying male who presents himself as a woman.

They pointed to a Facebook account by the name of “Blu Daly” as belonging to the suspect. The account does not include any actual photos of its owner, but it does include a link to the Breezeway Pub, a gay bar in Manchester, NH, where the suspect lived.

The NH Journal also claimed that Daly is a registered Democrat, previously lived in Londonderry, NH, and attended Salem State University in Massachusetts.
