The Bangor Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division launched an investigation into alleged child abuse on State Street.

The allegations suggested that a child had been beaten with a wooden dowel, and the Department of Health and Human Services joined to assist in the investigation.

Police uncovered enough evidence to arrest Henry Osei, 41, of Bangor, on a charge of domestic violence assault.

Police stated that Osei was a household member with the victim, but it is not clear whether they were family members.
