The breathtaking easternmost National Forest in the U.S. – spanning Maine and New Hampshire – is about to get a financial โshot in the arms.โ
A weapons company has announced it will be selling four exquisite commemorative rifles to benefit not only the White Mountain National Forest but the other 153 across the country.
A share of The National Forest Foundation Edition Rifle Series proceeds will go to conservation projects across nearly 200 million acres of public lands nationwide.
The four-rifle series by a weapons company called Henry Repeating Arms includes an exact replica of the commemorative firearm produced for display at U.S. Forest Service headquarters.
The listed price: $4,545.
The remaining three rifles in the commemorative set will sell for $420, $640 and $1,820 each, respectively.
The arms company is donating between $50 and $500 from every rifle sold to support the National Forest Foundationโs conservation programs.
โThese lands are a national treasure that must be protected to ensure they can be enjoyed by future generations,โ said Anthony Imperato, founder and CEO of Henry Repeating Arms.
โMillions of Americans hunt, hike, camp and connect with nature in our National Forests every year,โ Imperator added. โThrough this initiative, weโre proud to support the work of the forestry foundation and the U.S. Forest Service to help protect and restore the forests and grasslands that make those experiences possible.โ
Imperato said that besides contributing some of the sales proceeds to forest conservation he will personally donate $25,000 to the effort.
