BELFAST, Maine – Two 19-year-old Belfast men are facing arson charges after an early morning structure fire on Patterson Hill Road, according to authorities.

On Friday, March 27, 2026, at about 2:45 a.m., the Belfast Fire and Police Department were dispatched to 81 Patterson Hill Road in Belfast for a reported structure fire. When officers arrived, Belfast Police found the structure fully involved in flames.

Police also located two individuals nearby, identified as Isaac Cummings, 19, and Rowan Locke, 19, both of Belfast.

Because of the circumstances at the scene, investigators with the State Fire Marshal’s Office were called in to assist. Authorities said investigators conducted a fire scene examination and numerous interviews as the investigation continued throughout the day with help from the Belfast Police Detective Division.

Investigators ultimately determined that the fire had been intentionally set.

On the afternoon of March 27, investigators with the Fire Marshal’s Office charged both Cummings and Locke with arson. The two were transported to the Somerset County Jail, where they are being held on $10,000 cash bail.
