The Portland Police Department arrested two homeless men during a drug investigation on Sunday after responding to a report of trespassing at 15 Temple Street, home of the Twenty Seven Variety convenience store and The Works Bakery Cafe.

At approximately 9:14 a.m., Portland officers responded after a business owner requested that two men be ordered to leave his premises.

Officers arrived to allegedly see one individual attempt to pass something to another while apparently trying to conceal it.

During the encounter, one of the suspects allegedly dropped a bag of suspected drugs, and police detained and searched both men.

The search allegedly revealed 41 grams of fentanyl and 13.6 grams of methamphetamine.

Police arrested Timothy Clark, 56, homeless, on charges of violating conditions of release, unlawful possession of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of fentanyl, and unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs.

Police also arrested Derek Weeks, 46, homeless, on an outstanding warrant.

Both suspects were transported to the Cumberland County Jail.

Clark does not currently appear in Cumberland Jail Records.
