BATH,Maine – A Brunswick man has been charged with murder after a reported disturbance in Bath on Friday evening led investigators to a deceased adult male at a Brunswick residence.
According to Maine State Police, the Bath Police Department responded to the disturbance at about 6:30 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2026. During that investigation, 45-year-old Tanner Dostie of Brunswick allegedly made statements to responding officers that prompted further investigation.
Investigators then searched a residence in Brunswick, where they located a deceased adult male.
The deceased was transported to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta, where an autopsy will be performed to confirm the manโs identity and determine the cause and manner of death.
Dostie has been charged with murder and was transported to the Cumberland County Jail.
The investigation is being led by the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit South, with assistance from the Bath Police Department, Brunswick Police Department, Sagadahoc County Sheriffโs Office, and the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
Police said the investigation remains active and ongoing. No additional information has been released at this time.
