A KC-135 tanker showing damage from getting shot at in Saudi Arabia flew into Bangor International Airport for a fuel stop.

The huge tanker made its stopover after flying from the mideast on its way to an Oklahoma Air Force Base for repairs.

Bangor, home of an Air Guard refueling wing, is also a common refueling depot for international civilian flights.

The tanker 59-1444, which  “currently sports a massive number of patch repairs across the airframe was likely among the tankers damaged in the multiple Iranian attacks against Prince Sultan Air Base, Saudi Arabia, during March,” Aviationist.com reports.

The attacks damaged at least five Stratotankers, the outlet said.

After departing Mildenhall Royal Air Force Base in the UK, the jet stopped over in Bangor before completing its journey to Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, according to writer Kai Greet of the Aviationist.

Tinker is home to the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Complex, which oversees depot level maintenance for the KC-135 Stratotanker, Greet reported.
