No Love For Labubu: Testing Confirms Dolls Woven With Chinese Blood Cotton

First Maine weed, now the Labubu(s) – the Chinese Community Party (CCP) has moved on to producing toy dolls for children made with cotton picked by slaves from the Uyghur region of the Red Dragon.

The House Select Committee on China led by Chairman Rep. John Moolenaar (R-Michigan) announced Thursday that independent laboratory testing confirmed cotton from China’s Xinjiang region in 16 of 20 examined Labubu dolls, featuring a New York Times article link.

Findings raise new questions surrounding compliance with the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act, which bars imports made in Xinjiang, unless the goods are proven not slave-made. The committee made immediate demands for transparency from Pop Mart Global, the company who makes Labubu dolls, and stricter enforcement by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

In a public post on X, the committee stated “Cute toy, ugly truth,” followed by “Under the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act, any goods made in whole or in part with materials from Xinjiang are banned unless companies can prove otherwise. Pop Mart Global must provide full transparency, and CBP must enforce the law.”

The line of collectible China dolls are marketed to American children and young adults, becoming a frenzied sensation in the United States. However, test results confirmed that samples purchased through Amazon, Shein and AliExpress all contained the restricted cotton material.

Xinjiang is ground zero for documented CCP campaigns of mass detention, forced labor, and other human rights violations targeting Uyghur Muslims and other ethnic minorities, per government assessments.

Pop Mart Global did not immediately provide a response, nor did Amazon, Shein, or AliExpress provide statements addressing the test results. The House Select Committee on China has prioritized enforcement of the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act, arguing weak oversight allows American consumers to unwittingly fall victim to Beijing’s human-rights abuse traditions.

Wait until “the folks” start learning about Jinn. But there again, maybe that’s what some folks want. You know what “they say”….be careful what you wish for.
