The Scarborough Police Department is requesting public assistance in locating a suspect who successfully evaded capture following a traffic stop on Monday.

At approximately 10:00 a.m., Scarborough officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop on Payne Road after allegedly observing a traffic violation.

The driver allegedly refused to stop, and fled northbound at high speed.

Scarborough officers discontinued the pursuit “due to the vehicle’s operation.”

Later, police received a call reporting a vehicle off the road, and officers arrived to discover the suspect’s vehicle.

An investigation determined that the suspect had fled on foot, and police began tracking him with the assistance of a K9 unit.

Despite their efforts, officers were unable to locate the suspect, and police are now requesting public assistance in identifying the suspect from an image they provided.
