The Penobscot Sheriff’s Department arrested a Lee man on Friday after he was allegedly found driving with a suspended license and fleeing law enforcement.

At approximately 11:40 a.m., a Penobscot deputy was patrolling Main Road in Bradford when he allegedly witnessed a traffic violation and attempted to initiate a stop.

As the deputy turned to stop the vehicle, the driver allegedly fled at high speed before the deputy activated his emergency lights.

He lost sight of the suspect, but a nearby driver flagged him down and reported that the suspect had crashed off the road and into a bog.

The driver allegedly abandoned his vehicle on Carriage Lane near Main Road and fled on foot.

He was later located and taken into custody without further incident.

The suspect was identified as Aaron Grover, 41, of Lee, and was allegedly found to be operating with a suspended license.

He was charged with driving to endanger and transported to the Penobscot County Jail.

He no longer appears in jail records and has seemingly been released from custody.
