A New Hampshire drug trafficker pleaded guilty on Friday after he allegedly dropped a firearm and fled police while in Maine to settle a drug debt.

Steven Jones, 46, of Manchester, NH, pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to distribute controlled substances, possession of controlled substances with intent to distribute, and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime in the U.S. District Court in Portland.
Jones was arrested on January 19, 2025, after a Maine State Police trooper responded to a reported erratic driving incident in York County.
The trooper arrived to discover Jones and companions parked outside a resteraunt.
Jones exited the vehicle, and a firearm fell out of his waistband. He then fled but was ultimately apprehended.
He was found in possession of cocaine, methamphetamine, seven knives, five firearms, masks, gloves, tactical gear, and over $3,000 cash.
During the investigation, police learned that Jones was the head of a drug trafficking organization based in Manchester and that he was on the way to recover a debt from a Maine drug trafficker.
He faces a minimum of 15 years in prison and a maximum of 22 years, with a potential $10 million in fines and a lifetime of supervised release.
