Trump Arrives in France for G7 Summit After Announcing Framework Agreement to End War in Iran

President Donald Trump arrived Monday in Évian-les-Bains, France, for the 52nd G7 summit, following his announcement of a landmark framework agreement aimed at ending the U.S.-led war in Iran.

The three-day summit of advanced economies is expected to be dominated by discussions over geopolitical conflict, global trade, and the reopening of critical supply lines disrupted by the war.

At the center of the talks is the U.S.-Iran peace framework announced by Trump before his arrival. The agreement includes a joint memorandum of understanding with Tehran to halt the war in Iran and restore stability in the Persian Gulf.

A major focus of the summit will be coordinating the demining and reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical waterway for global oil shipping. The effort is expected to be closely watched by energy markets and world leaders seeking to stabilize supply chains after months of uncertainty.

The agreement has also generated friction among U.S. allies. European leaders remain critical of Trump’s decision to launch military operations earlier this year without broader consultation, with some describing the initial offensive as “outside the framework of international law.”

In Washington, lawmakers have demanded a formal review of the deal, raising concerns over possible sanctions relief and the verification process tied to Iran’s enriched uranium.

The war in Ukraine is also expected to be a central issue at the summit. With the conflict escalating through long-range drone strikes, world leaders are pushing for a lasting peace framework. Trump held separate phone calls with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy shortly before arriving in France.

French President Emmanuel Macron, who is hosting the summit, has invited leaders from Egypt, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and India to participate in broader discussions on security and trade.

Beyond active conflicts, G7 members are also scheduled to discuss artificial intelligence innovation, critical mineral supply chain resilience, and illegal immigration.

The summit is taking place amid large protests across the border in Geneva, Switzerland, where thousands of activists gathered to demonstrate against the G7 platform and its environmental and economic policies. Some of the protests led to clashes with police.

Macron has also shaped the summit schedule around Trump’s personal style in an effort to avoid the early departures that disrupted the 2018 and 2025 summits. The French president delayed the start of the summit so Trump could celebrate his 80th birthday at a White House MMA event.

Macron has also arranged an official dinner at the Palace of Versailles on Wednesday evening to mark the 250th anniversary of American independence.

British press is reporting that Trump sold out and let the Iranians tax the ships going through the strait. China wants this because they want to tax all the ships going through the south China Sea.

This is really bad news

Iran cannot charge a fee for maritime transit during the initial 60 day window and will be heavily sanctioned after that if found doing so. A bit different than what you suggest.

The “ British Press “ is controlled by the Muslims .
The Muslims OWN London .They have almost entirely conquered Europe .
The BBC isn’t any different than CBS , ABC , or NBC , except for the towels wrapped around their heads .
I’d pay more attention today to Rachel Maddow , than the BBC if I were you.
