The Portland Police Department arrested a Westbrook man on Tuesday after he allegedly attempted to set a restaurant on fire on Saturday and reportedly threatened patrons with a firearm.

At approximately 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, Portland officers responded to the New Buja Belle Restaurant and Bar for reports of an armed man causing a disturbance.
Police arrived and discovered that Ken Muco, 29, of Westbrok allegedly entered the business with what appeared to be a makeshift molotov cocktail.
Muco reportedly ignited the device in an apparent attempt to set the resturaunt on fire with patrons inside, though he was unscessful.
He also allegedly used a firearm to threaten people inside the resturaunt.
Muco was identified as the suspect following an extensive investigation, and Portland’s Criminal Investigation Division and Crime Reduction Unit located and arrested him at his home without further incident.
Law eforcement executed a search warrant at Muco’s residence and allegedly discovered a firearm along with other evidence related to the incident.
He was charged with arson, criminal attempt, reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon, illegal possession of a firearm, and terrorizing.
Police did not reveal any motive behind the alleged attack.
Muco does not currently appear in Cumberland County Jail records, and it is unclear whether he has been released on bail.
