At approximately 8:00 a.m., a fire broke out at the Dennysville Edmunds Congregational Church at 17 King Street.

The Dennysville Fire Department responded quickly and was able to extinguish the flames. Damage was limited to the exterior of the church.

Investigators believe that the fire started near the rear of the building and are currently investigating the cause and origin of the fire.

According to marshals, no one was inside the church at the time of the fire, and no one was injured during the response.

Marshals are now investigating the cause and origin of the fire. It is not clear whether they suspect arson.

The church thanked first responders on its Facebook page.

“With GRATEFUL HEARTS, we THANK ALL of the first responders & ALL OTHERS who aided in any way, to contain this morning’s fire,” said the church.

The church did not hint at whether arson is suspected.
