The Maine State Police are investigating after an elderly couple was found dead on Monday in a West Bath home during a welfare check.

At approximately 10:41 a.m., deputies from the Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Department responded to perform a welfare check at 98 State Road in West Bath.
Deputies arrived and located a deceased man and woman at the home and requested assistance from the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit.
The investigation led police to identify the deceased as Carolyn Harris, 77, of West Bath, and Kevin Harris, 75, of West Bath.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will perform autopsies to determine the cause and manner of death.
The investigation remains ongoing. Police have not specified whether they believe the deaths to be suspicious.
