A Maine man was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Bangor Wednesday to nearly five years in prison for trafficking fentanyl and other drugs through Somerset County.
Cody Mosher, 29, was sentenced to 57 months in prison followed by four years of supervised release for possession with intent to distribute fentanyl.
According to court records, in January 2023, Mosher led law enforcement on a high-speed chase through Norridgewock and Madison after Somerset County deputies stopped his vehicle and attempted to execute a search warrant and arrest warrant.
After the chase, Mosher was placed under arrest and his vehicle was searched, resulting in the seizure of approximately 760 grams of fentanyl, 21 grams of cocaine, a digital scale, and cash.
The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration considers just 2 mg of fentanyl a potentially lethal dose, meaning that Mosher was carrying enough of the synthetic opioid to supply a lethal dose to approximately 380,000 people.
